Marjorie Taylor Greene Is Raising More Money Than Ever

Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene raised more money this year than in her last two election years, according to the latest Federal Election Commission filings.
The Republican, who is running for her third House term, has raised $2.17 million in 2024, according to the latest filing in July. During her first campaign in 2020, Greene had brought in $322,620 by the same point in the year, while in 2022, she had raised $1.9 million.
Running with the campaign slogan “Save America, Stop Communism,” Greene positions herself as a businesswoman, mother and Christian who is “beloved by patriots,” per her website.
Greene, who has closely aligned herself with former President Donald Trump’s policies, is currently projected to win her seat in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District once more, with The Hill showing her with a 99 percent certainty of victory over Democratic candidate Shawn Harris.
Newsweek reached out to Greene’s office and Harris’ campaign via email for comment on Monday afternoon.
Harris has been critical of Greene’s record on delivering for her district, in the state’s northwest corner, and has said he offers something more for its residents.
“I have concrete things that I plan to do and bring back to the district,” he told the Associated Press. “Marjorie has been up for three and a half years and can’t point to anything that she has actually done.”
Harris, who has raised around $522,000, is running on a platform promising better health care, expanded broadband, fixing immigration laws, and lowering everyday costs.
Greene’s platform promises to defund the FBI, impeach President Joe Biden, end abortion in America, and protect the Second Amendment.
In recent weeks, Greene has come under fire for her response to Hurricane Helene, in which she appeared to claim that Democrats were controlling the weather to influence the presidential election.
Despite voting against additional funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Greene then called for its administrator to resign after allegations that the agency was mishandling the storm response.
While Greene’s seat appears safe, Georgia remains a battleground state in the presidential race with just three weeks to go until Election Day. Trump and Vice President Harris appeared neck-and-neck in the state in multiple recent polls, per polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight.
House Districts in and around Atlanta are mainly blue, as is the 2nd Congressional District in the state’s southwest corner, while the rest are red. Neither Democrat-held Senate seat is up for reelection this year.
